Tom Mounsey

Tom graduated from Waikato University in 1998 and spent time travelling in USA, Canada and Mexico before returning to NZ to commence his legal career. He has worked for a number of legal firms, including the office of the Crown Solicitor in Rotorua. Tom has a broad legal background, with a current focus and significant experience on all thing’s property, including business sales and acquisitions, subdivisions, trusts and estates.

Kate graduated in 1998 with law and science degrees and then trained as a primary school teacher, teaching for a few years before leaving paid employment to raise her children. She rejoined the legal profession in 2008 and is a trained mediator, available to undertake private mediations in any area.

Mary Baily Gibson

After graduating from University of Otago and being admitted to the bar, Mary began her legal career at a regional firm before relocating to London. There, she gained extensive experience working in-house in both the UK and later in Auckland, developing strong insight into commercial operations and risk management.
In 2016, Mary and her family settled in Taupō and she joined MMC Law in 2020. She became a director in 2023. Mary combines practical commercial understanding with clear legal advice, assisting clients to protect, grow and manage their businesses and personal assets with confidence.

Amber graduated from the University of Waikato in 2017 and was admitted in June 2018. This is her third time working at MMC Law.
Amber moved to London in 2019 and returned to our firm in September 2020 where she has been working ever since. She practices in the areas of conveyancing, relationship property, asset planning, estate administration and trusts.
Amber is currently on parental leave.

Danielle Malpas-Green

Danielle grew up in Taupō and has a strong understanding of the local community and property landscape. She specialises in property matters, in particular conveyancing and subdivisions, and also works extensively in estate administration, trusts and asset planning (wills and enduring powers of attorney).
She completed her Legal Executive Diploma in 2017 and worked with another local law firm before joining our team in 2018. Danielle has since completed her LLB through the University of Waikato and will be graduating this year and then applying for admission to the bar.
Danielle has developed extensive knowledge of and a genuine passion for subdivision and conveyancing work, and brings a practical, solution-focused approach to every matter. She is responsive, and focuses on giving clear, plain-language advice so clients feel confident about their decisions.

Originating from Italy Michela relocated to the Turangi area with her family during the hydro tunnel construction period. Michela obtained her Legal Executive qualifications in 2001 and received Fellow status of the New Zealand Institute of Legal Executives in 2020. In 2026 she will be graduating from the Waikato University with a Bachelor of Laws and is looking forward to expanding her legal knowledge into relationship property matters.
Michela has worked in other local law firms since 2001 before joining MMC Law in February 2026. She brings with her an in depth knowledge on all conveyancing matters including assisting first time purchasers, refinancing, subdivisions, estate administration, trusts and asset planning.
