  • Tom graduated from Waikato University in 1998 and spent time travelling in USA, Canada and Mexico before returing to NZ to commence his legal career. He has worked for a number of legal firms, including the office of the Crown Solicitor in Rotorua. Tom has a broad legal background, with a current focus and significant experience on all things property, including business sales and acquisitions, subdivisions, trusts and estates.

Kate Mounsey

Family Law and mediations involving parenting matters (day to day care and contact), guardianship advice and disputes (eg relocation, schooling, medical treatment), family violence (Protection Orders), Oranga Tamariki matters and Lawyer for Child.

  • Kate graduated in 1998 from Waikato University with Law and Science degrees. She then trained as a primary school teacher and taught full time for two years before leaving paid employment to be home with she and Tom's three children. In 2008, Kate completed her Professional Studies and was admitted to the bar.

    Kate practices solely in Family Law, and in particular matters relating to children (eg care, custody, OT) and domestic violence. Kate is appointed to represent children as Lawyer for Child and is a trained mediator, available to undertake private mediations. Relationship Property is not an area of practise, however there are others in the firm who can assist.

Courtney Robertson

  • "Courtney graduated from Victoria University of Wellington in 2009 and was admitted to the bar in the same year.

    Courtney is an experienced asset planning and relationship property lawyer and rejoined MMC Law in 2019. Courtney specialises in general asset planning matters (including wills and enduring powers of attorney), trusts, estates, relationship property and elder law. She enjoys building relationships with people and loves achieving good results for her clients in what are often difficult and emotional situations."

Specialising in commercial and residential conveyancing, sale & purchase of businesses, asset planning and protection.

  • Mary graduated from Otago University in 2004 and was admitted in 2005. She began her career at another regional practice before relocating to London. After several years working inhouse in London and Auckland, Mary moved to Taupo with her family in 2016 and joined MMC Law in 2020. Mary became a Director on 1 April 2023.

    Mary practices in the areas of conveyancing (commercial and residential), commercial transactions (including leasing and sale and purchase of businesses and shares) and asset planning and protection.

  • Amber graduated from the University of Waikato in 2017 and was admitted in June 2018. This is her third time working at MMC Law.

    Amber moved to London in 2019 and returned to our firm in September 2020 where she has been working ever since. She practices in the areas of conveyancing, relationship property, asset planning, estate administration and trusts.

  • Tiana joined MMC Law in February 2022. Tiana’s work is primarily in family law, including parenting matters, guardianship disputes, paternity and family violence. Tiana can also assist with applications under the PPPR Act and applications for dissolutions of marriage while supporting Kate and Courtney where needed. Tiana is an approved legal aid provider for family matters.

  • Danielle completed her Legal Executive Diploma in 2017. She previously worked with another local law firm, before joining our team in 2018. Danielle is currently working towards obtaining her Bachelor of Laws.

    Danielle has extensive knowledge of and a passion for subdivision and conveyancing matters. she also works in the areas of estates, trusts and asset planning.

Leigh Morris

  • Leigh grew up on a dairy farm just out of Waihi. Whilst working in law firms in Waihi and Tauranga, she completed her Legal Executive Diploma before moving to Taupo in 2011.

    Leigh is able to provide in-depth and valuable knowledge on conveyancing matters and can assist with asset planning and other areas as well.

  • Tricia has been with the firm since 2018 and is a Taupo local of many years.

    Tricia has a background in administrative work and is the Trust Accounts Administrator at MMC Law. She looks after Trust Accounting, Debtors, creditors, and other general office “stuff”. She also offers valuable administration support throughout our office.
