  • Tom Mounsey (LL.B.) - Partner
    Tom graduated from Waikato University in 1998 and spent time travelling in USA, Canada and Mexico before returing to NZ to commence his legal career. He has worked for a number of legal firms, including the office of the Crown Solicitor in Rotorua. Tom has had a broad backgound, with an emphasis on litigation across the areas of family, employment, civil and criminal matters.

  • Phil Clarke (LL.B.) - Partner
    Phil grew up in Taupo. Phil completed his law degree at the University of Waikato between 1993 and 1996. Phil was admitted to the Bar in the High Court of New Zealand at Hamilton on 23 May 1997. Phil has practised as a lawyer since he completed his studies and has worked in Taupo, Tauranga, London and Sydney. Phil is admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales.

  • Kate Mounsey (LL.B, BSc, Dip. Tchg.) - Associate
    Kate Mounsey graduated in 1998 from Waikato University with Law and Science degrees. She then trained as a primary school teacher and taught full time for two years before leaving the work force for five years to be home with her and Tom's three children. In 2008, Kate completed her Professional Studies and was admitted to the bar.Kate practices solely in Family Law, and in particular matters relating to children and domestic violence.   • Lucin Fraser LLB
    Lucin graduated from Victoria University of Wellington in 2006 and was admitted to the Bar the following year. Lucin practised as a lawyer in New Plymouth for four years, specialising in civil litigation, employment and criminal defence cases. He then moved overseas, working both in Australia and London before returning to New Zealand in 2013 where he took up a role with a specialist civil litigation firm in Auckland. In June 2017 Lucin took the opportunity to join Malcolm Mounsey Clarke in Taupo where he practises in the areas of civil, criminal and employment litigation.

  • Lisa MacLennan - LLB, BA (Hons)
    Lisa attended the University of Waikato and graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor of Laws. She was admitted to the Bar in Hamilton in June 2013.

    She previously practised in Rotorua for 3 years before joining Malcolm Mounsey Clarke in July 2016.

    Lisa practises mainly in Family Law undertaking Care of Children, Domestic Violence, Paternity and Child, Youth and Family matters.

  • Courtney Robertson  LLB BA
    Courtney graduated from Victoria University of Wellington in 2009 with Law and Arts degrees and was admitted to the bar the same year.
    Courtney worked for Malcolm Mounsey Clarke between April 2010 and June 2013. Prior to rejoining the firm in 2017, Courtney gained experience working for a Hamilton firm.
    Courtney enjoys working with people, and brings a practical approach to legal matters. Her aim to build and maintain close relationships with new and existing clients. She assists clients to achieve the best possible outcome in what are often difficult and stressful situations.
    Courtney’s main practice areas are estates, wills, enduring powers of attorney, retirement villages, and relationship property. Courtney also has a specialist interest in trust law, advising on trust structuring, management, resettlements, winding up, foreign trusts, trustee liability and beneficiary rights.

    Amber was born in Taupo and has lived here most of her life. Amber has completed her law degree at Waikato University and is due to graduate in December 2017. She has previously worked for our firm during the university holidays and is looking forward to a fulfilling legal career.

  • Nikola Matich -  Registered Legal Executive
    Nicky is originally from Northland, and she completed Legal Executive Certificate in 2004 and worked for law firm, in Whangarei until moving to Auckland where she worked as Legal Executive and undertook further study. Nicky moved to Taupo in early 2015 and has been working for Malcolm Mounsey Clarke since then.

  • Fiona Hussey - PA to Phil Clarke
    Fiona joined the firm in January 2014. Originally from Hawke's Bay, Fiona has worked in law practices in Dannevirke, Wellington and Taupo.

  • Kristy Mortensen - PA to Kate Mounsey
    Kristy has been with the firm since August 2015. She is originally from Hamilton where she worked in law firms and for the Ministry of Justice. Kristy is the Personal Assistant to the Family Lawyers and assists in other areas in the office.

    After a long career in banking Lauri shifted to administration at a local Real Estate company prior to the move to Malcolm Mounsey Clarke to become the Trust Administrator. Lauri’s previous careers stand her in good stead in her new role and her local knowledge is helpful to all.

    Originally from the Far North, Kathryn moved to Taupo in 2010. With over 30 years of public service, including Courts, MSD, Corrections and Police, she brings a wide range of experience and is excited to have recently joined MMC.   • Hayley Dingle - Legal Executive
    Hayley is originally from Auckland but grew up in Taupo. She has lived in Mount Maunganui, where she studied her Legal Executive Diploma and Auckland, where she worked in two Law Firms. Hayley returned to Taupo with her fiancé in April 2016 just before she had her son Bodhi and started work at Malcolm Mounsey Clarke in January 2017. Hayley assists Carolyn with mainly Conveyancing and Estate matters.
